As an instructor, I think it is important to showcase the growth and development of my pedagogical philosophies and approaches through examples of work completed by my students. Below you will find some examples of work my students have created in a variety of studio driven classes. Each post shows the piece title, the nature of the assignment, the level of the student, and the year and institution in which it was completed. These are examples of work completed by my students.

Constructed Realities – Student Work

Constructed Realities is a digital imaging assignment for freshmen. Completed in a course called Electronic Media and Culture at MICA, 2012. Gender and Alternative Narrative – Video 1

For this assignment, I asked students to create work inspired by the Alternative Narrative processes of early video artists, but to tackle some sort of gender related theory as it related to readings we discussed in class. Completed for Video 1, 2010.

Video 1 Final: Pixelation

For the final project in Video 1 I allowed my students to explore anything that interested them, so this student decided to endeavor into stop motion. After giving her a little instruction on planning and keyframing, she finished this fun little piece. Completed for Video 1, in 2010.
